KLA UPDATE: AGM Cancelled for 2022, Shoreline erosion & boat wake

AGM cancelled

Given the significant and continuing impact of the May 21 derecho storm on many of our members, the KLA Board made the decision to cancel our 2022 KLA Annual General Meeting. We are aware that many on the lake are still without full service and continue to deal with storm cleanup, rebuilding and repairing cottages, docks, dealing with Insurance companies etc.

Fall Dinner/Charity Auction is a go!

The good news is that we will be going ahead with our popular Fall Dinner and Charity Auction at Fernleigh Lodge on September 17. This year, all money raised, and food donations will be going to the Land O’ Lakes Food Bank in Cloyne. Mark your calendars! Questions? Contact directorMary@kashwakamak.ca

Shoreline erosion and boat wake

The storm, and lake levels following the storm have contributed to significant shoreline erosion. There are still many logs and other debris floating in the lake. We ask boaters to be respectful, slow down, stay 60’ from the shoreline (where possible) and consider “no wake” speed, especially near the areas that were badly hit by the storm.

Canada Day Boat Parade

For those considering being part of the Canada Day Boat Parade, we thank you in advance for keeping this in mind.
