Update: The 2020 summer shoreline assessment of Kashwakamak Lake’s almost 600 properties went extremely well. Watch your inbox in the spring of 2021 for a letter and email from WaterSheds Canada advising you of your options (an online link to your personalized property assessment or the option to buy a printed copy). The KLA will provide an update on the overall state of the lake in June or July.
By now all property owners on the lake should have received a letter and LYL Values Survey to your home mailing address. If not, please email vp@kashwakamak.ca and we’ll get it sent to you. The assessment starts this Monday July 6th and will last about 2 weeks. Please note that no one will come on your property or ask you any questions. Just wave hello to our Love Your Lake team hard at work in their boat. The process is simple, free and they won’t bother you at all.
As our members know, the Kashwakamak Lake Association (KLA) has been working with Watersheds Canada to deliver this program to shoreline property owners on Kashwakamak Lake. During the summer, they will be assessing your shoreline property, following all provincial safety guidelines for COVID-19, and generating a free report for your reference. The Love Your Lake program has been developed by two conservation non-profit charities, the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) and Watersheds Canada, and is delivered to lakes in Canada by regional partners.
The goal? To improve the health of Canada’s lakes by encouraging actions by shoreline property owners that will benefit their lake. This is the KLA’s major Lake Sustainability Implementation initiative for 2020.
